World champion in the Lightweight category by the World Boxing Organization (WBO), brazilian Patrick Teixeira will defend his title tomorrow (February, 13) against argentine Brian Castaño. The fight, which will be broadcast live to Brazil on the DAZN channel, will take place at Avallon Hollywood, in California (USA).

Born in the city of Sombrio (SC), Teixeira, 30 years old, has been preparing a lot for the fight against his opponent, one year older. The brazilian commented on what he hopes to find in his opponent, when the two go up in the ring.

“I believe it will be a great fight. It will be a war. Castaño is a good boxer, but I am the current champion and I want to keep my title. I know my potential and I trained a lot for the fight ”, evaluated Teixeira.

With a cartel of 32 fights and 31 victories – the only defeat was in a superior category -, Teixeira is part of the IBG (International Boxe Group) team and is one of the fighters sponsored by the Memorial Group. Despite being older, Castaño has fewer matches on his resume – 17 in total, with 16 wins and a draw.

“Even with the pressure to take my title. I have nothing against Castaño. I also have nothing in favor. I have already beaten fighters from other nationalities. It is always good to win against any opponent, regardless of their origin ”, concluded the catarinense.

Patrick has a good relationship with the Baixada Santista, coast of São Paulo. In addition to being part of the Boxe Guarujá group, his sponsor is from the city.

“I already had the opportunity to fight in Santos. I love the city. Pepe Altstut, from the Santos Memorial, is from the city. He always encouraged and supported me a lot. I am very grateful ”, finished.
